    Torr Derrickson is visiting the sleepy little town of Stonehaven and his brother. After seven hundred years as vampires they don't normally put down roots, but his brother is opening a bar there with the love of his life.
    Torr is more a wandering Playboy type, so the sooner he can leave the better. He really doesn't like all the company his brother is keeping.
    Charlotte O'Neill is a typical Southern Belle. From a once very wealthy family she now works as an English teacher. She is always aware of the necessity of a good reputation. Her two best friends in town have recently found love with the latest residents to settle in town.
    This is an exciting paranormal romance that is part of a series that is better read in order because of the underlining back story. You could enjoy it on it's own but it will tempt you to read the others.
    Wonderful characters and lots of fun. There must be at least one more book to come. I hope.

    It is not necessary to regurgitate some of the storyline which has already been presented but I will add my 2 cents worth. This is the story of the well known little brother/bad boy Torr of Clan Karyn and his history. He has kept his feelings close to the breast as he is know as "the Hunter" and a nefarious womanizer and he would not want to damage his "rep" by actually having feelings. He is caught unawares by the beguiling English teacher and is totally entranced by this woman who is totally opposite of him. Well, we know what they say about "opposites attracting"? He is literally caught by her and her steadfast attitude and is falling head over heels as well. He cannot stay away even though it is for the best for both of them. They even tried to part and that didn't work either, so they just went for it, literally. In the process of discovering each other, they reveal secrets that they haven't told anyone else which just brings them closer and more involved. In that same time period other secrets are revealed about the town; Stone Haven, and the Cheld which is Torr's personal mission to find and protect. Against his better judgment and his history, he changes our " h" so that they will be together forever and she joins him in his fight to save the Cheld. Other outside forces intervene and are still coming to complicate their efforts. Stay tuned as Book 4 will have even more revelations and I cannot wait till it arrives.

    Prepare to be pulled into a world all of it's own with a swoonworthy vampire named Torr. Yes, I did say vampire and I mean he can boil your blood! I truly cannot believe I am reading paranormal vampire books, but Cecelia Mecca has a magical pen that had me pulled me into this series before I knew what was happening! Do not be mistaken, these are not your ordinary vampires, heck no. They are over 700 years old and their past is as interesting as the present.
    Torr is the rogue of the family and he is only around to help his brother get his business started. He enjoys himself with the ladies and has charm rolling off of him in waves. But he is in for a reckoning when he meets Charlotte. She is the total opposite of him. A teacher, upright from a strict upbringing and best friends with two of the characters from the first two books. Talk about opposites attrack! But truly both had secrets from the past and as they go to know each other, the attraction was there. Oh yes, hot.
    Just know when you turn the first page, you will be lost in a world unlike any other that will take hold and not let you go until you turn the last page.

    I loved being immersed further into the stories past and present. The changes to long held grudges and misconceptions are compelling. How much the world has changed in 700 years. Might a longed lived being "change with the times," and why? What would be a good goal for an extremely long life? If time and money were not so limited, would a person live differently?
