The Unexpected Wedding (Loving a Billionaire Book 2) Kindle Edition
Lady Elizabeth Tyndale has endured a string of bad dates. She's not sure if sharing her opinions and business sense scared potential boyfriends away, but what's the point of having an opinion if she never expresses it? When her brother and sister-in-law invite her to join them on a trip to San Diego, she reluctantly agrees. Besides, what does she have to lose? She's certainly not burning up the dating scene in England.
Computer Programmer Jackson 'Jack' Stanfield doesn't date much. He'd rather bury himself in code because computers are simple, and people are complicated. "I enjoyed this book and read it in one sitting. It had laughs and sorrows and a Clean romance which I appreciate in a book. It flowed seamlessly from one scene to another. Characters were well defined and the writing was very smooth and unpretentious." Amazon customer
"What an adorable and heartwarming story! I loved this fun and funny little romance so much. The characters were captivating and the story was clean...so refreshing! The worldbuilding and plotline were easy to follow and made for a relatable story. It was a smooth and easy read. Yay for the HEA/HFN but I didn't want it to end! I'll be rereading this one again!" I absolutely loved this book!!
It was truly a lovely, whimsical, delightful, engaging, heartwarming, romantic read!!
This is the third book I’ve read from the talented writer, Debra Elizabeth. About two and half years ago, I had the privilege of reading her book, “The Accidental Wedding,” which is Book One of The Loving a Billionaire Book Series. I totally loved it, so I was very excited to read her latest work, “The Unexpected Wedding,” which is Book Two of The Loving a Billionaire Book Series.
This book is a light, easy to read, enjoyable book that just swept you off your feet and transported you into a beautiful, charming, HEA story!! I could not put the book down!!
I really liked the main characters, Lady Elizabeth Tyndale and Jackson “Jack,” Stanfield. They both were genuine, honest, likable, and relatable. I really liked the two of them together and could easily see them as a couple IRL. I also liked how strong Elizabeth was and how she was so well put together, stubborn, strongly opinionated, determined, caring, kind, and benevolent. In addition, I like how adorably nerdy, Jack, was as well as being a total gentleman, considerate, polite, and thoughtful.
I liked that this story had a sweet and innocent story line with a concluding HEA that left this reader satisfied.
This book was steady paced and easily flowed. It provided soundly structured plot points that were evenly placed throughout the story line.
I liked the long-distance theme as I have too, personally, had to deal with miles getting in-between relationships. It is hard!!! And it didn’t work out for me… However, thankfully, today’s tools have only made it easier, as people travel even more now, but it’ll still never be quite the same as being in the same room with that person.
I also really enjoyed the culture and the region shock differences. Everything from Elizabeth being a Brit and Jack being more from the world of computers. There definitely were some entertaining connection gaps!!!
Which unfortunately, brings me to why I marked this book down a ½ star. First off, communication is everything in a relationship. And I have so been there when communication errors have caused breakups. However, this felt like it lacked more of a realistic essence of a problem, and it was more of a quick fix throw on some Dollar Store duct tape solution to create drama and heighten the plot before the end of the book. It needed more spine, more of a complex issue, and more of a resolve, etc. This couple doesn’t just quickly go all in and fall completely in love and then call it quits over something so petty. That unfortunately then says a lot to their character arc development if they act so childish ¾ of the way through the book – where’s their growth? Shouldn’t they be better character’s than that?
Again, I loved the book and the characters – just had one little dig as I know the author is capable of such impeccable writing and could have come up with a more creative, but plausible final big plot point for the couple to overcome. I just felt there was a tiny let down. But then, thankfully, a HEA at the end!!!
This book is book two in The Loving a Billionaire Book Series. It can be read as a standalone. Although I have previously read the other book in this series before reading this book and it is highly unlikely that one would get lost or confused while reading this book before book one. However, there are character and story line overlaps. Also, it is stated that the author is currently working on book three right now. So, now is the perfect time to get in on the series!
All in all, I really enjoyed reading this book and would absolutely recommend it! I think all contemporary romance readers will like this book too – and this book series! So, add it to your TBR List and get to reading - you won't be disappointed!

Lady Elizabeth Tyndale is independent and focused on the wedding business she and her sister-in-law work in, which probably scares away potential boyfriends away. She accompanies her brother and sister-in-law on a trip to San Diego, where she meets Jack Stanfield. He's a computer programmer that doesn’t date much. The two are drawn to each other and hit it off right away. A series of events seem to keep them apart, but they can't stop thinking of each other.
This is book 2 of the Loving a Billionaire series, but I don't feel as though I'm missing anything. Book one is Keira and Cade's story, and the focus here is Elizabeth and Jack. It's enough to know that Keira and Cade are happy together, and are thoroughly invested in the family business on the estate and booking weddings. Elizabeth also helps and is proud of the work that she does with them. She wants more than to be a pretty trinket on a man's arm, and the date she goes on that opens the book is one of those horrible ones you'd see live-tweeted all over the internet. It's a stark contrast to her date with Jack, who immediately gets into a conversation with her, asks her opinion and lets her order her own drinks and meal. We see plenty of instances of his good nature as the novel progresses, and he isn't presenting it as a front to impress Elizabeth.
The two of them are actually pretty cute together, and you can feel the joy that they have when they think about or speak to each other. Of course, there has to be something to wreck that happiness and give them a hurdle to their happiness. I hate the fact that months of happiness is undone by a misunderstanding that isn't cleared up until Jack goes out of his way to see what upset Elizabeth. Communication wasn't ever a weakness in their relationship before, why is it suddenly an obstacle? I find those kinds of issues irritating to start with, but it's worse when there are people that get along and discuss things. It made me want to shake Elizabeth, because why wouldn't she confront Jack even if she was upset? She had no qualms about walking out on the idiot that wouldn't let her talk in chapter one! Aside from that, this was a contemporary romance that proceeds at a fairly fast pace, and it gets wrapped up neatly at the end.
