4.3 4.3 out of 5 stars 1,408 ratings

He's the cold-hearted enforcer, she's the angel that saved his life.

I’m the enforcer for the Wings of Diablo MC.

Cold and fearless.

The one who shows up in the dark of night with a serrated blade or a piece of barbed wire to bend our enemies to my will.

I’ve been known to stand in the middle of a gunfight without a care in the world, able to tear flesh from a body without blinking.

Nothing gets to me.

Nothing until Keeley opens that door to let me in.

Now, one tiny woman holds the key to destroying my entire world.

And if I lose her?

Nothing and no one will survive the reign of terror I bring down.

The characters are complex and engaging. They pull you right into the story and keep you there till the last word has been read. Their story has danger. action, secrets, lies, lust and more! Can a man that has not shown any emotion open his heart? Can he believe what he is feeling for his lady? Will his past rule his future? Check out the book to find out! So worth it!

I thoroughly enjoyed the story of Wire and Keeley! This is a well written book with nothing but the best to offer a reader, chalk full of bad guy MCs and a girl trying to escape her past.
At first I thought this was going to be one of those books where they cussed the whole way through. Upon further reading, the story became wittier and the story had me hooked up until the very last page.
It’s easy to get lost in the story, because you want both main characters to find their happiness in one another.
A great read with lots of hotness and just the right amount of steam!!!

This was an easy read. It had a few sections that were pretty graphic which I thought gave it a little bit of edge, but it had a few problems that resulted in me rating it three stars. Wire is on the run one night from a rival gang who has stabbed him and wants him dead after he permanently maimed one of theirs getting information after a drug bust went bad. Keeley hides him in her house and they're both attracted to each other, but Wire doesn't want anything serious, the rival gang is starting a war and wants Wire as their first kill and there's a possible traitor in their midst.

I thought the story was pretty well paced which kept it entertaining, but there were a few issues I had with it. Firstly, there are quite a few obvious typos scattered throughout the book, starting on the first page - extra spaces, missing punctuation and capitals and a few sloppy spelling errors. This is a pet peeve on mine but it might not worry other readers as it wasn't excessively evident, but it was there enough to warrant the comment here especially since one of the mistakes was an its/it's red flag. Some of the descriptive language left me scratching my head. Simmering eyes? Looking at someone with 'just a little more praise'. What even is that?

Some of the little bits added to story made no sense to me. Wire was on death's door and almost bled out but the next day we see him running down the stairs to get food before his friend eats it. There were a lot of dialogue words used that seemed strange in the story - a heap of screaming and shrieking and the like from both men and women that didn't gel with the story line. Towards the beginning of the book, Keeley, who is used to violence and killing due to her family background, just turns up at the clubhouse to return Wire's wallet knowing they're dangerous bikers. She's felt up and almost sexually assaulted in a room full of witnesses. Not only is this unbelievable, she then does it again later on in the book. Considering she's apparently studying for her second doctorate, she's a pretty slow learner.

The author tried to make Keeley seem strong, independent and feisty but unfortunately this wasn't completely pulled off as she also had several moments where she was needy, clingy and borderline annoying. Some of the words and phrases were repeated often. Honestly, how many times can the phrase 'honey pot' be used for a woman's bits? Quite a lot, apparently. We also had the same plot line happen twice where the rival gang went for Keeley at work. Then there's the ridiculous plot line where Wire, who isn't even allowed in the room when the upper echelon of the gang have church, is offered the vice president position.

There was the typical demeaning talk about females, particularly the 'bike bunnies', that pretty much makes them warm bodies and that's it. Wire is talked up as this stud with a massive member who bangs women and then kicks them out with no time for feelings or commitment. This was focussed on a lot, as well as a bit of rough talk and action from him. It wasn't terrible, but the author tried to make him out to be as much of a bad boy stud as possible. And I'll warn readers - there are two occasions where Wire is with other women after meeting Keeley. She catches him starting on the second one and the way she just got over it made me cringe. She's supposed to be this feisty, strong woman but has an outburst about it and says she's jealous and then they're all good. Nope.

Apart from a quick mention, there wasn't a lot of focus on what illegal activities the Diablo gang were involved in as the story mostly focussed on the issues between them and the rival Chaos faction. Most of the story is from Wire's point of few with a few chapters only from Keeley's perspective. Wire was possessive so some readers will like that. There was a smattering of cheese throughout the book where the attraction was hashed out or Wire's badboy personality was highlighted, but it wasn't too heavy, thankfully.

Overall, the book was pretty over the top but the writing was solid enough apart from the typos. The traitor was easy to figure out from early on in the book due to the heavy hints dropped by the author. I like how some of the violence wasn't scaled back but some of the kitschy elements didn't do it for me.

Wire is the enforcer for the Wings of Diablo motorcycle gang. Caught up in a war with the Tears of Chaos, he is consumed with violence and death. Then, one night while on the brink of death himself, an angel saved him. Her name was Keeley, and she was unlike any girl he'd ever met. She was smart, and bold and courageous. As an environmental scientist, she absolutely did not fit into Wire’s world of crime, but he couldn't let her walk away from him without a fight, especially if her life was in danger.

Bridged together due to unfortunate circumstances, the pair fight their attraction to one another, but will their resistance waiver? A strong book with equally strong characters.

I loved the idea of a biker romance and the characters were very well written and believable. When Keeley and Wire discussed her occupation, it was clear the author knew what she was talking about when she mentioned John Muir (my hometown naturalist!) However, I'm not sure if I agree with the biker lifestyle and the degradation on women. I've met many bikers and these one's make me sick with the way they treat women, but it does set the perfect stage for Keeley to enter.

"My father always told me people treated you how you let them treat you, so if I wanted respect and chivalry I had to demand it."

Keeley was the strongest woman Wire had ever met and that is what attracted him to her. She was his equal and because of her, he learned how to treat a woman. Wire grew tremendously from the beginning of the book and while he still has a long way to come, Keeley has definitely set him on the right track.

Wire didn't have the best life until he joined the wings of Diablo. There he found a family.

Keeley helps Wire when he needs it and she doesn't stop showing up for him. Wire protects her when his life gets her attention she doesn't necessarily want.

Keeley can take care of herself as well and doesn't seem to unfamiliar with Wire's way of life. Why? What secrets has she kept from Wire and will he be able to man up and be what Keeley needs?

Great story.... can't wait to read more.

I totally fell in love with Keeley, she was a total bad ass main female lead. Wire was awesome too total alpha but was brilliant to see him struggle with his emotions too. Dark MCs are usually my thing but I’m so glad I took a chance and read this book. I’m looking forward to reading more in this series.

Wire what a lovely surprise, I was hooked from page 1. It is refreshing reading a MC story where H is "just' an enforcer, most of the book is told from Wire's pov, I would have loved to know Keeley a bit better. Wire & Keeley is all fire and passion, only critique I have is I felt Keeley's dog Max gets a bit forgotten. If you are a fan of descriptive gritty full disclosure violence then you are in for a treat.
