The Witch who Saved Christmas: Felix and Penzi's Fifth Paranormal Mystery (French Country Murders Book 5) Kindle Edition
It’s Christmas Eve, but there’s a hold on the delivery of Christmas gifts.
A vile and evil monster is scaring Santa’s reindeers away from their job.
Time is of the essence if the world’s children are to wake up happy on Christmas morning.
So, once again Penzi Munro and her shapeshifting bodyguard, Felix, are called upon in the fight of good against evil. Penzi’s reluctant to get involved at first. She wants to stay home and share in the French tradition of a midnight family dinner, but Felix reminds her that a witch has to do what a witch has to do. Of course, Penzi accepts the task and does her best with the help of the High Council of the Guild of White Witches.
This story is not a who-dunnit like the other stories in the series, but is rather a tale of how-to-do-it to a nasty monster. Although part of the series, it is a stand-alone novella and is a story suitable for reading to or with children. However, the vocabulary is set at an adult level so children may need some simplification, which leads to fun between parent and child at Christmastime.
If you love stories about witches, magic, and talking cats and dogs, all spiced up with a dollop of danger, you’ll love following along with Penzi and Felix, her shape-shifting sidekick, as they fight the good fight against evil in the small French seaside town of Beaucoup-sur-Mer.

A lovely book supporting a wonderful cause. Thank you, Katie! Well done! - Amazon review.
Meet the reindeer, the witches council, and more as they do their best to help Santa get the children's presents out to them. Fast paced and short, I think that it's a great story! - Goodreads review.
It's a cute story, and short enough to read in one sitting. This is my first introduction to Penzi, and I'm glad to say it was easy to get caught up with what she can and cannot do. - Goodreads review.
The Mpenzi Munro series is clever and exciting. The travails always lead on an unexpected track that keeps the reader interested. Very well-written. - Amazon review.
The premises are refreshingly new. Even the trouble that Santa needs help with has a few twists. - Goodreads review.

About the author

Katie's fascination with leopards stems from her wild childhood on the Kenyan coast when leopards roamed at the bottom of her garden. She admires their strength and cunning, and adores the beauty of their coats. So, when Mpenzi Munro mentioned to Katie she would like a shapeshifter as her mystery solving colleague, there was no competition. In stepped sexy Felix with his peridot colored eyes, straight from the jungle of the Middle Congo.
Katie now lives in the south west of France, not far from Beaucoup-sur-mer. The wildest visitor she’s had there was a ferocious wild boar who scared the living daylights out of her and her dogs, and tore the fence down. He was more frightening than any leopard and nothing like as handsome.

- Reviewed in the United States on December 1, 2024Format: KindleVerified PurchasePenzi and Felix are asked to save Christmas from an invisible creature that is attacking Santa's reindeer. They named the creature Snarl because of the sound it made when attacking. Penzi, Santa, and Felix went to the White Witch Council to seek help. Read this book to find out what they did to save Christmas. Happy reading! 😊

- Reviewed in the United States on December 22, 2019Format: KindleVerified PurchaseThis is my first Mpenzi Munro story & it's mid-series. But it's intriguing enough that I want to read all of them. A dyslexic witch? A shifter bodyguard who has 3 options, 2 feline & 1 human. Plus this family is compelled by Penzi's late father's will to move to a small French village. The premises are refreshingly new..Even the trouble that Santa needs help with has a few twists.
I look forward to working my way through the series. Authors like Ms. Penryn are why I happily subscribe to Kindle Unlimited. Thank you.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 9, 2017Format: KindleVerified PurchaseVery surprising the depth of the character development as well as the continuing story line. I got just one book in the series to try thinking 'oh godness, yet another witch book'. I want to say I was so pleasantly surprised that I ordered all the others in the series. I am happiest when a feline plays a major role. Check! I like a fiction deep enough to involve you and leave you waiting for the next eagerly. CHECK! I like characters real enough and earnest enough to make you want to know more about them. CHECK! Good job Ms. Katie. Keep up the god work!

- Reviewed in the United States on January 9, 2017Format: KindleVerified PurchaseI'm not usually one for cozies, but this is cute. Mpenzie Monroe, called Penzi by most, lives in a small town in France. She's celebrating Christmas Eve with the town with a church service and dinner, when she finds out she's needed to help save Christmas. With the help of her bodyguard, Felix, and a talking cat, Penzi manages to find out what's needed, and accomplish it.
It's a cute story, and short enough to read in one sitting. This is my first introduction to Penzi, and I'm glad to say it was easy to get caught up with what she can and cannot do.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 2, 2019Love the Mpenzi Munro mystery series. If you're a teacher or an English buff, you'll notice a few grammatical errors, but that does not take away from the heartwarming quality of the stories! This is a great series for any aged reader. If you're looking for something 'clean,' look no further! I just wish she would add more stories to the series! I'm longing to read another!
- Reviewed in the United States on December 19, 2016Format: KindleVerified PurchaseWhat's not to like. It's a fun quick read. When Santa gets in trouble it takes more than cookies and milk to save the day.
