Full content visible, double tap to read brief content.

Nicole is a 30-year-old who still escapes into fictional worlds to avoid her adult responsibilities. It shouldn't come as a shock then to find out that she will devour just about any book and has since she was a young girl. It doesn't matter whether the book is dark, twisted, and full of smut or if it's light, breezy, and sweet, she's reading it.

Don't be alarmed that she'd rather read a book than interact with you - it's not your fault, she just doesn't know how to people. Talk to her about what she's currently reading or her favorite book and then you'll find out she doesn't know how to stop talking, so be careful what you wish for.

She lives with her husband of 3 years and her adorable dog-child, Ollie. She writes romance - paranormal, dark, contemporary, and more. Keep an eye out for her next book.

I've enjoyed this series so far, and I'd recommend it if you can get past the few Grammer errors and the mixing up names of characters a couple of times. It's not difficult to catch the name mixup and realize who the author meant to refer to. That seems to be a common thing with shifter books in general. Also, It does end on a cliffhanger.

Scratched my wolf-shifter dramatic romance itch but had some gaps in the story that made me pause.

    Pro's:
    Dramatic
    Angsty
    Fast-paced
    Short read
lots of protective wolf vibes and possessiveness
I like Dean the most tbh

    Cons:
No content warnings and this book is very heavy on SA, abuse and R@pe.
FMC switches between being reacting aggressively (rightfully so) to severe trauma then suddenly being aroused and okay with everything
FMC sudden personality shift from broken/timid to alpha female with a death wish threw me off
MMC seems to get his @ss kicked in every fight so it was hard to have confidence in his claims for the big finale
There's some worldbuilding that would help with the politics and slavery issues in the story. Why are there rebels? Where do they capture their human slaves from?
Editing and writing style was a bit rough to the point where it pulled me out of the story many times

Let me start off with I appreciate anyone who puts their work out there. However, I had to flip through most of this because I disliked the FML so much. She’s supposed to be a servant but she challenges everybody and has no survival instincts what so ever. Unfortunately and horribly she’s raped and while yes the king wouldn’t do anything several times she’s witnessed the prince willing to help but she’s like now I realize I’m a servant, so I won’t cause problems and give myself to my rapist. FML goes up against the king but says nothing to her rapist . That’s the point I was done with this book. I only finished because I hate not finishing a book but, this was close.

If I could give this less than 1 star I would. I'm sorry but everything about this book was stupid. I read it through even though I didn't want to bother, just so I could say I gave it half a chance. Spoiler Alert!!

1- Your Price is weak. He is literally taken down twice in like half a page.
2- Your female lead walks directly into danger and to her abuser multiple times
3- Your Alpha/King is a pansy-ass prick that hates his son and thinks mates are worthless but has one??
4- The servant bitch about following the rules but literally break them left and right.
5- Your Female Lead is supposed to be this easily manipulated servant but all of a sudden she can stand up to the King and Price but not the Royal Gaurd/her rapist?
6- You talk about bonds but show they mean absolutely nothing for loyalty
7- Your Prince is a part of a rebellion that hurts him and tries to attack his sister
8- Your Queen is supposed to be able to stand up to her King at the start to protect this girl but at the end of the book she is just a weakling that is abused but the King and has no backbone?

It's like the author is confused about how to develop characters and has 100% no idea how shifters work, how plots work, how abused people react to situations... dear Lord. Take this down, take apart your characters, replan their growth, remap your plot, then try and make your Prince not such a wimp. I think everyone doubting him was the saddest part of this whole story. His mate, his best friend, and even his sister thought he was too weak to take on a challenge. Ouch.

    *Trigger Warnings*
    SA/R*pe mentioned

The overall basis for the plot of this story is good. I mostly enjoyed the story, except for the plot line of the FMC being assaulted and then her best friend also being assaulted by the same pos.... And that guy actually being important to one of the side characters...yeah I didn't like that or see the need for it. Hoping things get better in book 2.

Absolutely loved this book and would thoroughly recommend it and hopefully others will enjoy reading it as well.
An Alpha wolf prince and a human slave can't be mates can they? Maybe fate has a way for these two to be together.

Claiming My Mate is the first book in the Wolf Hollow Pack series by Nicole Howl. This is the first book that I have read by Ms. Howl, so I really didn’t know what to expect going into the story. But the beautiful cover and enticing blurb had me rushing to one-click myself a copy to dive into.
It turned out to be a fairly short story (under 200pages), which a made for a very quick and easy read. It is a paranormal romance, with shifters, werewolves, fated mates, action, violence, danger, drama, duel POV’s, angst, challenges, a journey of discovery, and rebel forces causing chaos.
Lily is a human captive in a werewolf kingdom- her future uncertain, with fear a constant companion. But then she encounters the prince of werewolves- and her world is turned upside down to discover he is her fated mate. With that comes more surprises that bring their own challenges. Add in a rebel uprising, danger, and dramatic developments- and this story takes an interesting turn.
I liked the overall story- but I wish it had been a little longer, with a little more descriptive detail that would have allowed me more time to settle into the story- because as the story stands it felt rushed, as well as a little choppy and abrupt in places. The story also felt like it was having a bit of an ‘identity crisis’ because for the most part it was a ‘clean’ romance- but teetered on being an erotic romance with the mention of rutting/mating etc. Maybe it is just me, but I thought it would have suited the storyline to have leaned more into the sexy side of the story- unless it is meant to be aimed at young adults, but that isn’t specified.
I am interested in seeing where the story/series goes from here, especially since this book ended on such a cliffhanger.
    Happy reading!

    Thank you, Nicole Howl!

    This was… awful.
I hate saying that as I know someone has but time and effort and love into writing this book, but this could really do with an edit or 10.
Lack of description and world building, scenes jumping all over the place, characters names got mixed up throughout the story and even the little character description we did get got muddled throughout.
This was just plain bad and I’m not sure how I managed to get thru it 🙈
