Christmas in the Highlands: A feel-good Christmas romance novella Kindle Edition
When Niamh Macdonald's world crumbles, her roots call her back to the enchanting Highlands.
Return to the picturesque hamlet of Arden, nestled in the snow-draped Scottish Highlands, where castles, cosy cottages, crackling log fires, and mugs of piping hot chocolate set the scene for a heartwarming tale of love and second chances. Could this New Year breathe life into Niamh's shattered dreams?
After thirty-year-old Niamh MacDonald, a disillusioned artist, discovers her boyfriend's infidelity, she abandons her job and city life to seek refuge in her late grandmother's cottage in Arden. Scarred by betrayal and distrustful of love, Niamh is determined to rebuild her life and pursue her passion for art—until she crosses paths with Alex Mackenzie, an old friend and heir to Arden Castle.
As Niamh immerses herself in the tranquil beauty of Arden, sparks ignite between her and Alex. But when Alex inadvertently disrupts Niamh's carefully laid plans, trust is shattered, and forgiveness seems impossible. However, when they find themselves snowed in together at Christmas, Niamh begins to thaw, struggling to resist the sizzling, undeniable attraction between them.
Can Niamh carve out a new home in Arden, and will she find it in her heart to forgive Alex, unlocking the door to a love she thought was lost? Will this be the best Christmas ever... or will it end in heartbreak?
This cosy, festive romance is a page-turner, perfect for winter weekend reads. Fans of Trisha Ashley, Jessica Redland, and Sarah Morgan will fall in love this gorgeous Christmas romance.

About the author

Suzy Henderson is the author of The Beauty Shop, Madame Fiocca, and SPITFIRE, novels which are set during the turbulent times of World War Two. She also writes romance and recently released a novella, Christmas in the Highlands, a best seller on Amazon UK.
Her debut novel, The Beauty Shop, was awarded the B.R.A.G. Medallion. It is based on the true story of pioneering plastic surgeon, Sir Archibald McIndoe, and the Guinea Pig Club – an exclusive club for RAF pilots and airmen who required plastic surgery as a result of their war injuries and were under the care of this enigmatic New Zealander.
Madame Fiocca is also based on a true story. This gripping adventure follows the tempestuous life of SOE heroine, Nancy Wake before and during the Second World War.
Suzy lives with her family on the edge of the Lake District, where she can be found rambling around lakes, country lanes or roaming the fells. Armed with a pen, a love of reading and a growing obsession with military and aviation history, she is often lost in the 1940s, writing historical fiction.

- Reviewed in the United States on December 29, 2021This was a nice two hour romance set in Scotland. One laird, a castle, and two old friends who never let the other know of the deep love felt years ago. Broken marriage with one cheating, a mix of multiple emotions set around Christmas and ending with a natural aurora borealis.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 15, 2021A second chance to find love together for Alex and Niamh. They knew each other when they were young. Life pulled them apart, but fate brought them back together. Niamh had her struggles, and I loved her desire to be independent with her passion for art. She was a bit wishy washy at times, but it could be overlooked. Alex was a strong, protective man, quite willing to accept his love for Niamh had kept him single. He was so patient and tried his best to get Niamh to see her passion and her life could be with him.
I received a copy of this story through Xpresso Tours, and this is my unsolicited review.

Gran used to love that saying, and now Niamh was all alone. She wasn’t sure she had the wherewithal to continue on her own. With her love life in shambles and her art work selling for barely a pittance, how was she to survive?
What a lovely way to spend an afternoon. The wonderful detail brought the scenery, the house and even the castle to life. A long lost friendship could possibly give her some purpose and perhaps even a living, but was she ready to relinquish some of that control she was hanging on to so tightly?
My comments and impressions were in no way solicited for this book published by Avis Press.

This was a nice story but i thought Niamh was a bit wishy washy and the ending was very abrupt.
